Thirteen more pounds!
That was a surprise. I really didn't think this was going to be such a good week, I just didn't feel I had lost so much.

Granted, only 1 of the 28 meals this week wasn't out of a packet. I'd been to a funeral in Edinburgh and had gone to a board meeting through there. It is a long standing co-operative tradition to feed the board prior to meetings and, despite having my measuring jug, hand whisk and packet of shake mix with me, I gave in to the temptations of steak pie with all the trimmings.

I'm really buoyed up just now and looking forward to next week, my only real hurdle is the Police Board meeting this Thursday in Paisley and the meal afterwards. Must remember to be strong.

Hi Jen

Go back a post or two for more details, I'm doing a VLCD, one of those diets that replaces meals with soups and shakes, eerily reminiscent of the Cambridge Diet of yore.

Mine is called All About W8, more details here:

http://www.allaboutw8.co.uk/Home/W8_Home.asp

I know people who are doing Lighter Life as well.

It's nowhere near as grim as it sounds, well it isn't now that I've added a fibre supplement, the first two weeks were painful!!!

Thanks for the support, much appreciated.

No bother, I am genuinely very impressed! I have just been told to do the Charles Clark diet by my psychiatrist, which is similar to Atkins but with slightly more carbs and a lot more fruit and veg. Supposedly it should help with the weight loss and also the mood swings. Here's hoping. Was on Atkins before and became crazily depressed. Your plan looks expensive, but they seem to think it's about to get very popular!

Will be reading your posts with interest, feel free to moan at me if having a tough diet day - although I won't be on the same plan I do get it - have put on a shitload of weight in the last year. :(

I refused to pay the £76 that lighter life costs, mine comes in at £49/week and, bizarrely, I'm saving money.

Lunch alone was costing me between £15-20/week alone at the office canteen, add in crisps, fizzy drinks, choc bars, rolls and sausage in the morning plus one and sometimes as many as three takeaways a week.
It all adds up.

Oh and no booze natch!

Judith is doing the diet with me and we're still buying groceries for the kids and making them real meals. All with no appreciable extra expense.

Brilliant - hadn't thought of it that way but when you think of all the additional snacks you are not eating I can see why it would be about the same cost. Well, all the best and good luck with losing even MORE weight! *is jealous* ;)
